Individual- Versus Group-Based Financial Incentives for Weight Loss: A Randomized, Controlled Trial

Individual- Versus Group-Based Financial Incentives for Weight Loss: A Randomized, Controlled Trial

July 15, 2016

AIMLogoincentaHEALTH’s HEALTHspot kiosk was recently used in research project designed to evaluate the effectiveness of group incentives relative to individual incentives. The study, which was led by Dr. Jeffrey Kullgren, followed 105 employees of the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia.  The study found a significant boost in weight loss for those receiving a group incentive.  incentaHEALTH is applying a similar model in our Team Challenge concept that allows program participants to form online teams and earn group incentives for visiting the HEALTHspot kiosk.
